The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga (RMHC) presents the Karen Lawrence Run.
This amazing event is celebrating 40 years and to add some extra fun we will be GLOWING IN THE DARK!!
The Lawrence Family started the New Year's Eve run 40 years ago at the downtown Sportsbarn. Karen Lawrence, at the age of 11 and having battled acute lymphocytic leukemia for a year and a half, started the first race. Less than 3 months later Karen lost her battle, and the Lawrence Family had proudly been carrying on the tradition each year before turning it over to RMHC to host the event. It is in her honor and with her courage of conviction that family, friends and scores of volunteers and supporters have given of their time, talent and resources to keep this event going year to year. It is our honor to continue this event in Karen's memory to raise money to help kids that are sick in the hospital that need their families close by.
